Big news, folks! I won the #StitchFixFriday contest that Stitchfix does every week. I’m so excited! I won with a photo I took on my trip to LA (that I casually never posted anything about because of a situation with food poisoning… so use your imagination there…).
I was so grateful to receive a $50 credit and I went ahead and scheduled my next fix right away.
To be 100% honest, I was a little disappointed in this fix. I did get one awesome item out of it, but the other items were not “me” at all. Here’s what I got (prepare for some stripes, y’all):
This was my only keeper and I’m a big fan! It fits a little loose, but in a way that I love. I have been really bloated this week (thanks, womanhood), so this top has been perfect for meetings. Yes, I have worn it two days in a row.
This maxi dress is great in theory (re: awesome material, packs well for travel, simple colors), but it was all sorts of wrong when I put it on. Horizontal stripes, folks. Not too pretty.
I am just going to say one thing here: My sizable ass and I absolutely hate pencil skirts.
This top was alright, but it was a little short and tight in the arms. I just don’t think this one was meant to be.
I liked the idea of this blazer, but I am going to predict that I will not wear it often and that does not fit my needs or my desire to reduce the amount of stuff in my life. This fit very well and the material was soft, but I definitely don’t need it.
Overall, I would say that the prices were a bit high for the items I got. They were all alright, but I could find them in department stores or even some boutiques for better prices. I understand that a service like StitchFix comes with a price, but I was a little surprised by the low quality on the items like the blazer and the pencil skirt. I still look forward to using StitchFix again. I have consistently kept one awesome item from each fix and I truly do wear those items all the time.
